Bits n Pieces 01/09/2015

This entry is part 1 of 1 in the series Bits n Pieces 01/09/2015

What a nice week, even with the cold weather, I had a blast.

I had a great 101-103 class. My students, Ian and Tonya, were well prepared upon arrival, very enthusiastic to learn a new lifestyle and start their dream of world travel, and open to all I had to offer. They did a great job!

Then, after the completion of that class I rolled right into a RPBA 1101-1102 class with George. This was George’s first experience on a boat, let alone a big boat, yet his pre-class preparation and eagerness to develop skills and experience allowed him to develop confidence in handling many different boating scenarios.

 This Week’s Toast:

Here’s to the man who is wisest and best
Here’s to the man who with judgment is blest,
Here’s to the man who’s as smart as can be –
I drink to the man who agrees with me!

What’s next?

I have an ASA101 class starting tomorrow. Thankfully the cold and wind will subside by then.   I can’t wait to get it started.

I have been off the water for the past two days. Yeah for me! I avoided most of the cold!

My office has the best view in the world! How lucky am I?

Looking ahead!

Look for an article this week coming about the Recreational Power Boating Association (RPBA).

I’ve been busy planning trips for the spring. These trips are designed to be fun, educational, and for some, a little challenging. They will be flotilla style, so the more boats the better! I’ve put together 3d/2n, 5d/4n, and 7d/6n versions. For more information look for Sailing Florida’s e-mail, On the Water… With Captain Frank, and Sailing Florida’s website. There is, perhaps, a no more classic boat drink than this week’s drink. There are hundreds of different recipes for this drink. And, everyone think’s theirs is the best! There are however, some common elements to this drink, so take this recipe and customize the hell out of it!
